About the Breed

Personality

Most bedlingtons, like me, are kind and affectionate. They tend to be quite submissive, and sometimes shy of children. They love people, but are sometimes prone to running away and digging. They rarely chew up the house, and are easy to house train.They are also originally bred as hunting dogs, so may like to kill some pigeons if they are particularly robust. Quiet house dog, generally.

Size

Males, on average, are usually about 16.5 inches, and females 15.5 inches.

Colour

They come in four main colours, but they can vary. I am liver, because when I was little, I was dark brown, and I have a chocolate nose and brown eyes. With different colours, there are different nose and eye colours. The most common colour is blue, which is a sort of pale grey. Then there's sandy, which is a cream, very like liver, and sandy and tan, which is literally sandy with tan markings.
